Dr. Shanfar also has experience as a college professor of Anatomy. Her education includes a Doctorate of Chiropractic plus a year of special training in Norway. Her Training also includes Yogaworks teacher training, sports rehabilitation, neuro-emotional technique, sacro-cranial technique, flexion distraction technique, Russian cupping Therapy, as well as adjusting pediatrics, infants and pregnant women. She has also served for four years as a QME (Qualified Medical Examiner) for the state of California.
Dr. Shanfar has many years of experience working in collaboration with other specialty doctors when necessary, such as Medical doctors, Orthopedic surgeons, Osteopaths, and Acupuncturists for the purpose of creating optimum results.
Dr. Shanfar also comes from an athletic background. Starting with competitive swimming at a very young age. Her favorite sports include skiing, cycling, swimming, hiking and yoga. Dr. Shanfar has been teaching and conducting Yoga workshops for almost ten years. Her expertise in yoga includes prenatal yoga, basic yoga for healing, and yoga flow, which is a more active from of yoga.
All of her yoga programs are designed to focus on gently opening the larger joints of the body, such as the spine, shoulders and hips, to help create more flexibility and reduce stiffness and tension.
Dr. Shanfar believes that educating patients about their body can be a great way of minimizing the risks of everyday micro injuries. These injuries can include long term suffering from conditions such as head aches, neck pain, middle back pain, lower back pain, sciatica pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, arm pain, leg pain, foot, and ankle pain, and carpal tunnel pain.
